The Norsk Melodi Grand Prix 2021 is running, from this week we know the regular release dates. After KEiiNO and TIX, the first two artists set for the final, released their songs last Friday, Stavangerkameratene are following today. Tomorrow they will be on the stage in Oslo with their title “Barndomsgater” (Childhood Streets), written by Tommy Fredvang, Lars Horn Lavik, Robin Sharma and Glenn Lyse.
The four comrades from Stavanger are known to many in Norway from television. Kjartan Salvesen won Idol in 2004. Tommy Fredvang is known from X Factor 2009, Stjernekamp 2015 and the success “Vi elsker ABBA” (We love ABBA). Glenn Lyse won Idol in 2007 and Ole Alexander Mæland was the singer of the famous band for four years She Miss.
“It has become a strong friendship. It started with a lot of arguments, and now it’s just singing and music “, laughs Salvesen in conversation with NRK. Four years after their debut, the guys have two albums, over 50 million streams on Spotify, over 6 million views on YouTube, several gold and platinum trophies and a number of tours through Norway behind them. Today they are considered to be one of the most popular live bands in Norway.
“Our song is a bit about what we’ve all been through, to think a little about the life we’ve lived and to be proud of what we’ve achieved. We’re looking forward to this year’s party, ”says Fredvang.
