Norway dominates Nordic Michelin guide with 6 new stars

On Monday evening, this year’s stars in the Michelin guide were awarded to restaurants in the Nordic countries. The awarding takes place in the Finnish city of Turku.

Getting a Michelin star is one of the biggest things a restaurant can achieve.

Six new stars

Several awards went to restaurants in Norway. This year’s Service award went to Mia Kondrup at restaurant Á’Laise in Oslo. K2 in Stavanger received Michelin’s green award for sustainability. Heidi Bjerkan and Credo received this award in 2019. The restaurant Jossa has also received Michelin’s green award.

Norway was the country that got the most new stars. A total of 14 were awarded in the Nordic region.

These Norwegian restaurants get one new star in this year’s guide:

  • The Stables (Oslo)
  • At ease (Oslo)
  • My Uncle (Oslo)
  • Say Omakase (Oslo)
  • Savage (Oslo)
  • K2 (Stavanger)

Last year, four new restaurants in Norway received a star in the guide.

There are no Norwegian restaurants that receive two new stars at the award.
