Norway condemns North Korea launching ballistic missiles. It writes Norway’s UN delegation in New York on Twitter.

– The country’s nuclear and ballistic activity is a threat to international peace and security. We ask North Korea to participate in substantial dialogue.

It was Norway’s UN Ambassador Mona Juul who gave the speech.

The UN Security Council is now discussing North Korea’s recent activity. The initiative for the meeting was taken by the United States and the United Kingdom.

It should have been pointed out that the launch is the eighth from North Korea this year, and that it is with weapon types the country has never tested before.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield called the latest missile launch “the latest in a series of ruthless provocations” and a serious breach of UN Security Council resolutions.

– All member states must meet their obligations to prevent North Korea from developing weapons of mass destruction and missile programs.

The EU members of the Security Council have also reacted sharply, calling the actions provocative.
