It’s been a tough week. But sometimes you just have to move on. Also in the north.

First, the Norwegian Railway Directorate came up with the assessment of the proposal to build the Nord-Norgebanen. Once again, the conclusion is clear. It should not be built. The price will be too high. The natural interventions become violent. Reindeer farming will be affected. The climate account will not turn positive until 75 years from now.

Unfortunately, the dream of this train has been kept alive by the irresponsible promises of politicians. In the government declaration from Hurdal, it came in the form of a formulation from the Center Party and the Labor Party about “concept selection investigation with the aim of realizing development”. So the disappointment is understandable.
