Northern Ireland’s Whiskey and Tea Sectors See Millions in New Investment

Belfast and Lisburn have become the epicenter of the whiskey and tea manufacturing industry, respectively, in Northern Ireland. Titanic Distillers has converted the Thompson Dock pumphouse in the Titanic Quarter into a distillery, where the first whiskey to be distilled in Belfast in more than 90 years will soon be produced. The Causeway Distillery at Bushmills, Northern Ireland’s oldest and biggest distillery, has opened a £60 million extension focused on increasing the production of high-end single malts. Meanwhile, Suki Tea has just opened a large new factory in Lisburn, doubling its warehouse capacity and production space to meet demand from export markets such as Poland. With all these developments, Northern Ireland is becoming a major player in the global whiskey and tea markets.
