This time, inhabitants of the Arroyo Grande district, in Cartagena, experienced moments of anguish when they learned of the death of a young couple, whom they found drowned in a stream in the town on Friday afternoon.
María José Navarro Marrugo, 18, and her partner, John Alexis Aguas Urdaneta, 20, were taking a bath in a tributary also known as Arroyo Grande, when, apparently, the force of the water surprised them and dragged them away. It is said that they tried to swim to save themselves, but the current prevented them from reaching the shore.

Their bodies were found hours later by another group of people who passed through the place.
María José’s mother told The universal that “she lived with John several years ago on a farm near the mouth of the stream, so it was common for them to bathe there almost every day. I found out that they had drowned through a phone call, ”said the woman.
The Metropolitan Police were present at the scene of the events to carry out the technical inspection of the bodies, and later transferred them to the Forensic Medicine morgue in the Zaragocilla neighborhood, in Cartagena.
María José and John Alexis, who was Colombian-Venezuelan, left behind a 3-year-old boy. In social networks, the Arroyo Grande community expressed its condolences to the families of the two young people.
