North Rhine-Westphalia: Corona vaccination for children: special campaigns by districts and cities

The first pediatricians in North Rhine-Westphalia started the corona vaccination of five to eleven year olds on December 13th. In addition, most counties and cities in the country offer vaccination campaigns for this age group.

It is possible that there will also be a mobile vaccination offer in daycare centers and primary schools. In an e-mail from the NRW school ministry, it is said that if the municipalities responsible for carrying out the vaccination campaign come to the schools with “visiting” offers, these should “be made possible to the best of their ability”.

The Standing Vaccination Commission (Stiko) has recommended vaccination of children between the ages of five and eleven who have risk factors for a severe course of Covid-19 or relatives at high risk. In addition, parents can also use their healthy ones after individual education children vaccinate.

City region Aachen

Vaccinations for children aged five to eleven start on December 17th. In the separate vaccination center for children, only experienced paediatricians from the region are vaccinated.

Bielefeld

In the Bielefeld vaccination center in the town hall, Willy-Brandt-Platz 1, children under the age of twelve will also be vaccinated from December 17th – in their own vaccination lanes.

Bochum

The city of Bochum is setting up a child vaccination center (Am Westring 24). Six vaccination lanes will be available there, and 864 children can be vaccinated per week.

Bonn

One of the four vaccination lanes in the Bad Godesberg town hall is reserved for children from December 20th. From December 15th you can go to “www.ciz-bonn.de“ Dates can be booked. In addition, the health department is planning exclusive appointments in the Bad Godesberg town hall. Five days of vaccination are reserved exclusively for children: December 17th / December 22nd / January 4th / January 5th / January 7th.

Borken

There are currently no vaccination offers for children on the website of the city of Borken (as of December 13, 2021).

Bottrop

Child vaccinations take place in the vaccination center on Südring. The dates are currently fully booked (as of December 13, 2021)

Coesfeld district

As soon as the children’s vaccine is available to the Coesfeld district, the relevant dates will gradually be activated.

Dortmund

The children’s vaccination street at the vaccination center in the Thier gallery is set up. So that there is no mixing of the vaccination contingents, only the children can be vaccinated there, but not their parents. The exact starting time for the Impfstrasse will be announced.

Duisburg

There is still no information on child vaccinations on the city’s website. According to “WAZ”, the city wants to start vaccinating children on December 17th in a separate vaccination tent at the main train station.

Düren district

The first vaccination days take place in the smear and vaccination center in Nikolaus-Otto-Straße in Düren on December 18 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and on December 20 (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.). Registrations at “www.abstrichzentrum.termin-direkt.de”.

Düsseldorf

The children’s vaccinations start on December 17th in the municipal “Impfzentrum 2.0” at the main train station, Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz 1. It is essential to make an appointment in advance on the Corona hotline 0211-8999069 and has been possible since December 3rd. Around 200 vaccination appointments can be made for children per day.

Ennepe-Ruhr district

Child vaccinations will take place from December 17th in the following eight inpatient vaccination centers: Breckerfeld (Martin-Luther-Haus), Ennepetal (former vaccination center, Kölner Straße 205), Gevelsberg (Alte Johanneskirche), Hattingen (short-term care at the Evangelical Hospital), Herdecke (Kulturhaus ), Sprockhövel (Haßlinghausen sports hall), Wetter (Town Hall II) and Witten (Saalbau).

Essen

Child vaccinations are possible after registration at the following locations: Altenessen-Nord, Marienhospital administration building, Johanniskirchstraße 27; Werden, Kardinal-Hengsbach-Haus, Dahler Höhe 29; Rüttenscheid, Grugahalle, Messeplatz 2.

District of Euskirchen

There is still no information on child vaccination on the Euskirchen district’s website (as of December 13, 2021).

Gelsenkirchen

There is still no information on child vaccination on the website of the city of Gelsenkirchen (as of December 13, 2021).

Gutersloh

In the vaccination center at Marienfelder Straße 351 in Gütersloh, special vaccination lanes are set up for children. Two dates are initially available: December 20th and 27th. Appointments can now be booked on the vaccination hotline 05241 / 85-2960.

Hagen

The vaccination center in the Stadthalle Hagen, Wasserlos Tal 2, is offering a special vaccination campaign only for children between the ages of five and eleven from December 17 to 19, from 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. A visit to the vaccination center on these days is only for children with an appointment on the website “www.terminland.de/impfzentrum-hagen” possible.

Hamm

According to the city, “vaccinations of children (under twelve years of age) are currently not possible within the framework of the city’s vaccination offers (vaccination station, vaccination mobile, vaccination in the neighborhood)”. Parents should contact the treating pediatrician if necessary.

District of Heinsberg

The district of Heinsberg does not provide any information on child vaccinations on its website (as of December 13, 2021).

Herford district

Child vaccinations are possible after making an appointment online at the Herford vaccination center, Bustedter Weg 16, 32130 Enger. All appointments are currently taken (as of December 13, 2021).

Herne

There is still no information on child vaccination campaigns on the city’s website (as of December 13, 2021).

Hochsauerlandkreis

Vaccinations for children aged five to eleven are expected to start on Friday, December 17th.

Höxter district

A vaccination campaign for children will take place in Warburg on December 19.

District of Kleve

The vaccinations for children in the Kleve district are due to start on December 17th. There are still no offers on the district’s website.

Cologne

Cologne children between the ages of five and eleven are to be vaccinated from December 17th – not only by paediatricians, but also in the vaccination centers in the health department and at the Lanxess Arena.

Krefeld

In Krefeld, parents can now also book appointments for child vaccinations in the silk weaver’s house. On December 17 and 19, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the vaccination center will be open especially for children’s vaccination appointments.

Leverkusen

The city currently does not offer any vaccinations for five to eleven year olds (as of December 13, 2021).

Circle lip

Children from the age of five can be vaccinated from December 17th in the inpatient vaccination centers of the district in Bad Salzuflen, Blomberg and Lemgo.

Märkischer Kreis

The Märkische Kreis currently only vaccinates children from the age of twelve (as of December 13, 2021).

District of Mettmann

From December 17th, the district will be offering the first vaccinations for children between the ages of five and eleven.

Minden-Lübbecke district

Mönchengladbach

On December 19, 20, 27 and 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., four more children’s vaccination days are planned. 360 appointments are available per day. From January 10th, the city administration in Nordpark plans to offer children’s vaccination appointments on Mondays from 11.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

Mülheim an der Ruhr

The city of Mülheim is setting up four child vaccination centers from December 17th: in the vocational college in Stadtmitte / Kluse, in the Heißen grammar school, in the Mülheim technical center and in the Willy Brandt school.

Münster

The city of Münster does not yet offer any vaccination campaigns for children (as of December 13, 2021).

Oberbergischer Kreis

Child vaccinations can only be booked in the appointment booking for the Gummersbach vaccination center and are only offered in the Gummersbach vaccination center and not in Hückeswagen or Waldbröl.

Oberhausen

The city of Oberhausen will start offering vaccinations for children between the ages of five and eleven on December 17th.

District of Olpe

The district of Olpe is offering a vaccination campaign especially for five to eleven year olds at the vaccination center in Attendorn on December 17th.

Paderborn

From December 17th, vaccination appointments will also be offered for children between the ages of five and eleven. These dates can be booked since December 10th.

Recklinghausen

Vaccinations for five to eleven year olds will start on December 17th.

Remscheid

The city of Remscheid is preparing a vaccination offer for children from January 2022.

Rhein-Erft district

From December 17th, 2021 between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the former vaccination center in Hürth, children between the ages of five and eleven will be vaccinated. Rhine district of Neuss

Siegen-Wittgenstein district

The district is offering a special vaccination day for children on December 20 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the vaccination center in Siegen and Bad Berleburg.

Soest district

From December 17th, children from five to eleven years of age will also be vaccinated in the district’s permanent vaccination center. It is essential to make an online appointment in advance.

Solingen

The city of Solingen does not yet offer vaccination appointments for children (as of December 13, 2021).

Steinfurt district

The Steinfurt district does not yet offer vaccination appointments for children (as of December 13, 2021).

Unna district

On December 17th, the district of Unna begins vaccinating children at the Unna vaccination center. The appointment booking portal has been activated. Appointments can now be booked. Additional child vaccinations in the Niederrheinhalle Wesel are only possible by appointment.

Wuppertal
