North Macedonia appreciates China’s great achievements in combating the COVID-19 pandemic and thanks it for its assistance in this matter, he said, hoping for more frequent and deeper exchanges and cooperation between the two countries after the pandemic situation improves.

For his part, Zaev noted that North Macedonia has received immense support and assistance from China since its independence, for which his country is deeply grateful.

The two countries have great potential for cooperation, he said, adding that North Macedonia wants to strengthen cooperation with China in areas like economy and trade, investment, construction of infrastructure as well as defense and security, in order to promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations.

Mr. Wei introduced them to China’s epidemic prevention and control, its economic and social development, and the state of Sino-US relations, while clarifying China’s principled position on the Taiwan issue as well as those relating to it. in Hong Kong and Xinjiang.

China appreciates North Macedonia’s strong adherence to the one-China policy and hopes it will continue to support it on issues concerning its core interests, he said.

China is willing to work with North Macedonia to take full advantage of the Belt and Road Initiative and the “17 + 1” platform with the aim of deepening pragmatic cooperation and achieving mutual benefits, win-win results and common development, said Mr. Wei.

The Chinese military attaches great importance to developing relations with its counterpart in North Macedonia and is committed to deepening exchanges and cooperation, in order to advance the deep and solid relations between them, he said.
