“North Korea’s “Space Missile” Crashes into the Sea: South Korea Investigates”

North Korea announced on Tuesday that its military reconnaissance satellite “crashed into the sea”, following a statement by the South Korean military that it said it was trying to determine whether the “space missile” launched by North Korea on Wednesday morning (local time) exploded in mid-air or exploded. has crashed.

The South Korean military said the missile quickly disappeared from radar screens, Yonhap news agency reported.

Yonhap quoted the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Seoul as saying, “The (North Korean) projectile disappeared from the radar screens before it reached its expected point of impact,” noting that the army was evaluating the possibility that the missile “exploded in the air or crashed.”

And the South Korean army announced, on Wednesday morning local time, that North Korea launched what it described as a “space missile”, in a step that activated for a short time the air attack warning systems in both the capital, Seoul, and the Japanese region of Okinawa.

“Rocket launch. Missile launch. North Korea apparently fired a missile. Please take cover inside buildings or underground,” the prime minister’s office said in a warning on Twitter broadcast by public broadcaster NHK.

But the Japanese government canceled this warning after 30 minutes, reassuring that all dangers had passed.

On Tuesday, North Korea confirmed its intention to launch a satellite for military espionage purposes “to confront the dangerous military moves of the United States and its followers.”
