North Korea allegedly sent thousands of ammunition containers to Russia. Last month, the head of Ukraine‘s military intelligence said the North’s support for Putin was the “worst problem” Kiev faces from Moscow’s allies.
As columnist Albert Link writes, calling in troops from North Korea may be a “big mistake” for Putin because he “suddenly gains a new enemy” in South Korea.

“A terrible scenario for Putin: South Korea, which has so far supported Ukraine only with humanitarian aid and helmets, reacts to Kim’s entry into the war – and sends weapons to Ukraine. Small South Korea (only slightly larger than Austria) has one of the largest armies in the world , numbering approximately 3.6 million soldiers (500,000 in active service, 3.1 million in reserve),” writes Link.
“The arms industry is flourishing, it produces weapons according to NATO standards, which means there is demand for them. The South Korean government has set itself the goal of becoming the fourth largest arms exporter in the world by 2027, after the United States, Russia and France. If South Korea decides to support Ukraine with weapons, it will have a huge impact on the course of the war,” we read in the column.
