North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-un Threatens War and Rejects Unified Korea in Latest Statement

North Korea’s dictator Kim Jong-un states that the country no longer aims to unite North and South Korea. In the same breath, the dictator says that the country will shut down all organizations that work for a united Korea.

– We do not want war, but we have no plans to avoid it, says Jong-un according to Reuters, which refers to the North Korean news agency KCNA.

– War will destroy South Korea and lead to an enormous loss for the United States, says the dictator.

The United States is a close military ally of South Korea.

Jong-un also threatens South Korea against crossing the demilitarized zone between the two countries.

– If South Korea steps over as much as 0.0001 millimetres, it will be considered a declaration of war, says the dictator.

On the same day, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol held a cabinet meeting in Seoul. There, Yoon said that if North Korea carries out a provocation, South Korea will strike back with a response that is “several times stronger.”

– If North Korea carries out a provocation, then we will retaliate many times stronger, he said at the meeting, which was shown on South Korean television.
