North Korea promises to continue what it calls military exercises in response to the ongoing Vigilante Storm military exercise by South Korea and the United States. The South Korean news agency Yonhap writes, quoting the news agency of the dictatorship KCNA.
The North Korean General Staff still refers to Vigilante Storm as an “open provocation with the deliberate aim of increasing tensions”.
– The Army General Staff will make it clear that it will continue to respond to all enemy war exercises against North Korea with resolute and overwhelming military action, the statement said.
North Korea sent one recently a long series of missiles against Japan and South Korea. This led South Korea and the United States to decide to continue the Vigilante Storm military exercise, which was due to end on Friday.
South Korea began an annual four-day exercise on Monday focusing on crisis management and transition capabilities to a war situation. The exercise, which goes by the name of Taegeuk, also trains operational capabilities against various threats, including those from the nearby north.
This comes from the South Korean general staff, according to Yonhap.
Kim Jong-Un will not be intimidated by Western sanctions. An Asian researcher VG spoke to believes there are two solutions to the crisis: Either go to a full-scale war against North Korea or reintroduce negotiations at the highest level.
