The Japanese government announced that North Korea had tested a ballistic missile, the “J-Alert” early warning system called for evacuation to the public.
Japan’s Ministry of Defense announced that North Korea launched a ballistic missile at around 08:00 local time. The Japan Coast Guard has issued a message that the ballistic missile may fall into the Hokkaido region in the north of the country.
PUBLIC CALL FOR evacuation, SPEED TRAINS STOPPED
According to the news of AA, the “J-Alert” early warning system called for the people in the region to evacuate inside buildings or underground shelters.
The ministry announced that the ballistic missile fell off the coast of Hokkaido. The call for evacuation in the area was withdrawn.
High-speed train services throughout the region were stopped for a short time.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed that the test was conducted from the east coast of North Korea.
