He said that the 6,700 containers that North Korea sent to Russia could contain more than 3 million 152mm shells and 500,000 122mm shells.
“It could be a mixture of two types of shells, and we can say that at least several million shells were sent,” the minister said.
Hundreds of North Korean ammunition factories are operating at about 30% capacity due to shortages of raw materials and electricity, he said.
But, as the head of the Ministry of Defense added, the factories that produce shells for Russia are operating at full capacity.
