Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “During the one-on-one meeting, Chairman Kim invited President Putin to visit North Korea. President Putin gratefully accepted this invitation.”
“Any agreement will be reached through diplomatic channels,” Peskov added.
On this day, North Korea’s Korean Central News Agency reported that Chairman Kim invited President Putin to visit North Korea, and that President Putin accepted.
Prior to that, the Kremlin said the day before that there were “no plans yet” for President Putin to visit North Korea.
Spokesperson Peskov said that President Putin and Chairman Kim exchanged rifles as gifts at the North Korea-Russia summit the day before.
“President Putin gave us the highest quality rifles produced in Russia,” he said.
“President Putin also received a North Korean-made rifle,” he explained, adding, “President Putin also gifted Chairman Kim with the gloves of the spacesuit he has used in space several times.”
It was also announced that Chairman Kim’s visit to Russia will last for a few more days.
