North Korea tested an ICBM that had sufficient range to reach the US mainland and landed just 200 kilometers from Japan.
US Vice President Kamala Harris and the leaders of Japan, South Korea, Canada, Australia and New Zealand condemned the launch at an emergency meeting convened on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific economic cooperation summit.
“We strongly condemn these actions and once again call on North Korea to halt further unlawful destabilizing activities,” Harris said.
