“North Korea launched a ballistic missile of an unknown type” in the direction “of the East Sea”, the staff in Seoul said
The National Defense General Staff in Seoul announced that North Korea had fired a ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan, also known on the Korean Peninsula as the East Sea.
Thus, concerns are raised in the region as the recent period of time has intensified military exercises.
Typically, on July 12, North Korea launched a ballistic missile, estimated to be of long range, the South Korean military announced, two twenty-four hours after Pyongyang threatened to shoot down American spy planes that violate its airspace.
“North Korea launched a ballistic missile of an unknown type” in the direction of “the East Sea,” the staff in Seoul said, using the name for the Korean peninsula that Tokyo calls the Sea of Japan.
The South Korean military “detected the launch of what is believed to be a long-range ballistic missile from the Pyongyang area around 10:00 a.m. [σ.σ. τοπική ώρα· στις 04:00 ώρα Ελλάδας] in the direction of the East Sea,” the South Korean National Defense General Staff later clarified.
