“North Korea Fires Missile Towards South Korea, Causes Disaster Alert in Seoul”

Reports of an incoming missile from North Korea led the authorities to issue a disaster alert in the million-strong city of Seoul in South Korea.

The Japanese Ministry of Defense announced earlier on Wednesday night that North Korea has fired what may be a ballistic missile. Authorities issued a warning to people on the island of Okinawa to take cover. However, the warning was withdrawn after about half an hour.

The flight alert went off all over South Korea’s capital, Seoul. Authorities in the city issued a warning to residents to prepare for possible evacuation. However, this was corrected, and the country’s interior minister says the warning was a mistake.

Just under an hour later, the South Korean defense reports that it was a “spacecraft” that was sent out. It happens after North Korea, according to Guardian has announced that it would launch its first spy satellite between 31 May and 2 June.

The president’s office in South Korea has announced that a meeting to evaluate security in the country. Military authorities report that the object did not hit anything in South Korea. Military authorities are now trying to determine whether the spacecraft exploded in midair.

If true, it joins a long line of firings from the dictatorship of Kim Jong-Un over the past six months.

In February, the United States, Japan and South Korea launched joint military exercises in response to the many launches.
