Sosok.ID – Once again the leader North Korea Kim Jong-un showed that he was different from his father and grandfather. At the very least, he apologized for his government’s brutal mistakes.
After the assassination of an official South Korea apparently trying to defect, Seoul announced that Kim wrote a letter saying he was “very sorry” for “disappointing” the people South Korea.
Any steps the government takes are essential to Pyongyang for North Korea’s progress. However, much more needs to be done.
Kim previously deviated from policy North Korea which is already established because of its commitment to economic development and diplomacy.
Kim then entered into serious negotiations with President Donald Trump and Moon Jae-in.
At that time, Kim appeared poised to strike a breakthrough deal, reduce tensions, advance gun control and promote economic development.
But that didn’t happen. Much of the blame falls on Trump and especially his officials, who sought full denuclearization before developing trust or benefiting Pyongyang.
However, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is also at fault. Indeed, the DPRK is its own worst enemy. Not only because of a very repressive political system.
