Displaced people fleeing the fighting between the FARDC and the M23 in the territory of Rutshuru have been flocking for a week to that of Nyirangongo (North Kivu).
According to local civil society, these people, whose number has not been revealed, are confined to churches and schools in the village of Kiheru, in the Munigi group, not far from Goma, the capital of this province.
However, this civic structure is concerned about the increase in the numbers of these displaced persons in this territory, while no reception measures have been taken by the political authorities.
The technical secretary of the civil society of Nyirangongo, Thierry Gasisiro, also reveals that these displaced people live in extremely difficult conditions.
« They have no food, no water to drink, no medicine. They are really abandoned to their sad fate. Especially pregnant women, children, elderly people, and people living with disabilities are very vulnerable. “, he underlined.

Thierry Gasisiro also asks the Congolese government, non-governmental organizations and men of good will to come to the aid of these populations in distress.
Meanwhile, a lull has been observed for three days on the front lines between the national army and the rebels, particularly in Ntamugenga as well as in Rumangabo.
