North Dakota Slips to No. 16 in Latest College Football Rankings After Loss to South Dakota State

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (UND Athletics) – After falling 42-21 at top-ranked South Dakota State over the weekend, North Dakota slipped to No. 16 in the latest Stats Perform Poll and No. 15 in the AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25.

In the Stats Perform Poll, South Dakota State has the top spot with all 56 of the first-place votes. Southern Illinois moved up from No. 10 to No. 6, while North Dakota State dropped from No. 2 to No. 7. South Dakota jumped up to No. 15 after being unranked before winning at NDSU, 24-19. North Dakota is the final MVFC team ranked in the poll and sits at No. 16.

Six teams from the conference are also ranked in the AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. SDSU remains at the top, while SIU moved into the top-five at No. 5. NDSU dropped to No. 8 and UND slipped to No. 15. USD and Illinois State entered the poll at No. 21 and No. 22, respectively.

No. 16/15 North Dakota will host Western Illinois this Saturday at 1 p.m. The game will be televised on Midco Sports and carried on the Home of Economy Radio Network.
