Raising the urgent passport fee… for these reasons!
The Acting Director General of Public Security, Brigadier General Elias Al-Bisari, took a decision today to raise the fee for the urgent passport application to 700 thousand pounds, in addition to the two million and one hundred thousand preceding this fee, so that the final urgent passport cost becomes 4,800,000 Lebanese pounds.
The increase in the fee for “Al-Mosajel” will enter the Directorate’s fund to be distributed at the end of each month to the officers and personnel of the Directorate, who are suffering from force majeure conditions with the value of their salaries greatly reduced, and it constitutes a lever for their ability to withstand pending the improvement of the economic situation.
As a reminder, the urgent passport fee has been in effect since the days of his predecessors for Brigadier General Al-Bisari, and increasing this fee today will not constitute a great burden for travelers because it does not exceed 6 dollars. However, the ordinary passport, which requires days to be issued, its fee remained the same, i.e. two million Lebanese pounds.
