– We are working on start-up plans, but that depends on us getting satisfactory customer contracts. We must achieve profitability, says CEO Erik Løkke-Øwre of Norsun Bergens Tidende.
The reason why the factory has temporarily shut down production is a dramatic drop in prices in Europe.
Import restrictions in the USA mean that cheaper solar modules from China are sold to Europe, and that the market is thus flooded with modules that few can compete against.
Twelve employees are still at work at the factory, and Norsun is now working further to obtain means through support schemes such as Enova, Siva and Innovation Norway.
