Norse Atlantic Airways: another company on the Parisian axis

A few weeks after the announcement by the American company Jet Blue a link between Paris and New York, which will leave next summer, this new challenger that promises to be announced will not delight the many operators already departing from the French capital.

The Paris – New York line, before the Covid crisis, was the most competitive in the world with more than two million passengers a year. A cake therefore very attractive especially in this period and which visibly continues to whet the lusts.

As for the French airline, there are already three operators: Air France, French Bee and La Compagnie. Corsair also wanted to start, but he gave up on the Covid epidemic.

XL Airways was also placed on the route to New York before being liquidated.

The American companies Delta (Air France – KLM group), United and American and soon Jet Blue also operate daily flights from Paris.

Due to their fairly similar economic model, French Bee (operating out of Orly) is certainly the French company that will view this new entrant most unfavorably.

With so many operators, the risk of saturation is real and could weaken some of them. Especially if this very large travel dynamic, which should still last for the winter season, starts to wear out in the spring…
