Norrköping starts resource schools for students with autism

The activity will be located at Borgsmoskolan and offer twelve students in grades 6-8 individually tailored teaching by specially trained staff.

-Through the resource school, we can create a safe and adapted environment where the students receive the support and teaching they need to succeed in their schooling, says Ingrid Cassel (M), chairman of the board of education.

In the coming years, the idea is to also offer teaching from the 4th to the 9th. The teaching takes place according to the primary school’s curricula, goals and timetable.

According to the municipality, there are currently upwards of 100 students diagnosed with autism in Norrköping, and they can now apply to the new resource school. At the same time, teaching will also be given at other schools for this group.
