Norris’ strange mistakes surprised Rosberg

Nico Rosberg admitted he was “surprised” by Lando Norris’ mistakes at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Norris took his third career race win in Singapore last weekend as he closed the gap on Max Verstappen in the world championship.

The McLaren driver dominated the race and finished almost 21 seconds ahead of Verstappen, but had some uncomfortable moments along the way.

“It was very strange the mistakes he made in the race” Rosberg said on the Sky F1 podcast.

“He was a little surprised at what was going on with him because he hit the wall twice. Both looked like really bad times, almost, and he was lucky his race wasn’t over.” he continued.

After touching the wall twice, Norris went into Turn 14 mid-race with his front wing tecpro hit a wall. Although he escaped serious injury, the incident nearly ended his career.

“He slid miles off the track in a hairpin, he broke – but not with little braking, but with big braking” Rosberg added.

“And the other time he hit the same wall as George Russell did last year, which caused him to be eliminated on the last lap of the race. And you probably don’t remember that he again moved off the track as he passed a passing Williams. So he had three minutes and it’s really weird. said the 2016 world champion.
