Norra Skåne | Discharge of Schough when Rosengård won

National team star Olivia Schough was brilliantly happy after the important three-pointer against Linköping in front of 1,486 spectators at Malmö IP.

– God yes. Very nice because there was a lot of talk after the Häcken loss and nice to get back on the winning track already the following week, says Schough.

Last weekend, Rosengård suffered the first loss of the season when table runner-up Häcken won 2-0 at Hisingen. In the round before, the Malmö club had also lost points at home against Kristianstad (1-1).

In two rounds, the league lead had suddenly shrunk to three points, but after Saturday’s round, Rosengård has increased the distance to five points with three games left to play. The reigning champion team Häcken had to settle for 0-0 at home against Vittsjö.

– We have got a great starting position, says national team captain Caroline Seger and continues:

– If we just do our job, we do not have to think.

– It’s just trying to hold on to it now for the last time, because Häcken will not give up.

It was Schough who was behind Rosengård’s turn – Uchenna Kanu gave Linköping the lead in the ninth minute – to victory on Saturday.

“A good feeling in the body”

First, she sent in a dream free kick in the crossbar behind Cajsa Andersson in the 27th minute of the match.

– I had a good feeling in my body. There was a bit of talk before that we would chip it in at the back (surface) and nod it in, but I just felt that this is too good a position not to shoot, says Schough.

She was recruited to Rosengård before the season and is now up to ten hits. Schough has never been more dangerous during his twelve-season Damallsvenska career.

– Is it tenth? Nice! It’s very funny. It gets a little easier when you play in something as good as Rosengård.

In the final stages of the first half, she also served the Dane Sanne Troelsgaard an open goal until the winning goal.

In addition to a slight toss of gold fever, Rosengård has also had injury concerns during the autumn. Striker Mimmi Larsson has been missing for some time and even though the offensive creator Jelena Cankovic was on the bench against Linköping, she has not played since she was injured against Kristianstad two weekends ago.

Caroline Seger left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 83 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.

– It’s all right. It’s been a bit of a week with my bet. I felt it was better to leave now at the end, says Seger.

The next match for Rosengård is away against Piteå next Sunday.

– For me, this match was important. Then we can hope that it will be good for next weekend.

TT: But you’re limping a little now?

– Yes, but what phase, it is completely wrapped. So I have no feeling in my legs, so it’s not worse than that, she says and laughs.

TT: What do you say about the sequel?

– It must show a lot of heart and a lot of will. I hope we get back the players who have been away, because it is clear that it affects us, says Caroline Seger.
