Kakao services are normalizing one by one on the 16th. The services available through accessing Kakao are also being restored. In Kakao, a failure occurred in several Kakao services, including Kakao Talk and Daum, a portal, from 3:30 pm the previous day due to a fire at the SK C&C data center.

Kakao announced on Twitter at 11:20 the same day: “Currently (at 10:25), you can access the PC version of KakaoTalk.

The service of the KakaoTalk mobile application was partially restored from 1:30 the same day. However, the PC version was not signed in, causing inconvenience to users.

Upbit, a virtual asset exchange, also announced the normalization of services. Upbit announced at 11:05 of 16: “The login service through the Kakao account has been resumed.”

Upbit supports login via Kakao account and Apple ID, but many users are known to log in via Kakao account. The service was resumed after about 20 hours.

Most financial services like Kakao Bank and Kakao Pay work normally. However, some services for Kakao Mobility have not yet been restored. It is known that it is possible to call surrogate, fast, courier or make a reservation for transport, but it is not yet possible to call a taxi.
