Kirchhellen –
It was almost exactly two years ago to the day that Norbert Heisterkamp published his autobiography “If I don’t come tomorrow, then I’ll be in the film”. His friends and fellow actors Otto Waalkes and Martin Schneider gave him the idea. “They said: What have you actually done in your life? “You should write a biography,” he recalls.
Said and done. In keeping with his 30th anniversary in film and television and his 60th birthday, the finished book was published in February 2022. In it, the native of Kirchhellen tells his story. From his time as a locksmith at Ruhrkohle AG to his start as a stuntman in what was then the Bavaria Filmpark to his roles on the big screen.
His great passion also lies with fast vehicles. During his life he even got his racing driver’s license. After a few initial readings, things fell silent about the daring actor last year. The reason for this was a heart disease: “That really took my shoes off,” he remembers. After a serious operation and a long recovery period, Norbert Heisterkamp and his wife Irmgard now want to look forward.
Reading for a good cause
The Church Hellenic icon would now like to make his first public appearance after the challenging time in his homeland. On March 16th at 3 p.m. Heisterkamp will again give a reading at the Bellendorf car dealership. Admission is free. “But a hat will go around because we would like to use the opportunity to collect donations for a good cause,” says Irmgard Heisterkamp. And of course the money should stay in place.
However, registration is necessary. Anyone interested can contact Katharina Bellendorf by email ([email protected]). At the last reading the waiting list was long. “That’s why I promised to come back,” emphasizes Norbert Heisterkamp. He particularly enjoys being represented in his home village: “It will be very personal. The reading here is a matter of the heart for me.” There will also be time for questions afterwards.
The author has come up with something special for the visitors: “We are giving away a total of three copies of my biography among all the guests.” By the way, these can also be purchased and signed on site. It’s not just his personal contact with the Bellendorf car dealership, but also many of the book’s contents that make the location so appropriate.
“This is also well received by other car dealerships. “After all, there are also many anecdotes to tell about our time at the racetrack,” says Heisterkamp happily. So the reading in Kirchhellen is the first of hopefully many more. After his illness, the actor would like to calm down: “I want to enjoy life and do what is good for me.”
