People with Parkinson’s are welcome together with their informal carer from 10 January 2023 at Noorderhart Revalidation & MS in Pelt. They are starting a group rehabilitation program. “Parkinson’s disease impacts many aspects of daily life,” says Dr. Griet Gysemberg. ‘We want to provide more information on all aspects of Parkinson’s disease, encourage them to move more and help them gain knowledge about AIDS in their daily lives. Informing them about the legislation is also important.’
The program consists of 12 sessions of 2.5 hours where a theory session is linked to a movement session. Several therapists at the rehab center will be holding those sessions next year. “Every therapist on our team has gained experience by working experientially and taking specific training courses,” she chimes.
The program is offered 3 times a year. The group consists of up to 8 people with Parkinson’s disease. Anyone wishing to participate can contact the medical secretariat on 011 809 112.
