Noni Madueke’s Impressive Performance at Chelsea Instills Fear in Teammates: The Rise of the Winger

Madueke makes a big impression at Chelsea: ‘He instills fear in teammates’

Noni Madueke seems ready to prove his worth for Chelsea. The winger, who came over from PSV in January for 35 million euros, was accurate for the second game in a row on Saturday and is making a big impression in England.

Until recently, Madueke’s adventure at Chelsea could be considered very disappointing. The attacker only made 23 appearances in the main squad of the London club last year, partly due to injuries.

Against Luton Town (2-3 win), Madueke kicked off a Premier League match for only the second time this season. A hamstring injury forced him to miss most of the first half of the season.

According to English media, the fact that Raheem Sterling is Mauricio Pochettino’s most used winger this season is due to the lack of competition and the absence of players like Madueke.

The Athletic states that Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk should fear for their places now that Madueke seems to have found his feet. “His goal was pure class. His smile after the final whistle spoke volumes.”

“This was a much-needed boost for his self-confidence. By rewarding the youth international for his part in the match against Crystal Palace (Madueke also scored, ed.), Pochettino sent a signal that he sees an important role for him in the second half of the season.”

Madueke’s response
Madueke expressed gratitude after the match with Lotun. “Every time I shoot with my right hand, I try to hit it as cleanly as possible,” he told BBC. “I feel like they were afraid I was going to come in, hence my right shot.”
