Non-subsidized LPG Prices Rise, This Is the Difference with ‘Gas Melon’

Price LPG today’s non-subsidized increase in the range of Rp. 1,600-2,600 per kilogram (kg). PT Pertamina (Persero) raised the price of non-subsidized LPG in response to the increase in the Aramco Contract Price (CPA) price which continued to rise throughout 2021.

Acting Corporate Secretary Pertamina Patra Niaga Sub Holding Pertamina Commercial & Trading Irto Ginting revealed that in November 2021 the CPA price was recorded at US$ 847 per metric ton. This is the highest price since 2014 or up 57% since January 2021.

According to contact center information from Pertamina 135, it is stated that the price for refilling LPG in Bogor Regency and Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta is 5.5 kg for IDR 76 thousand or IDR 13,900 per kg.

As for the 12 kg LPG, both Elpiji and Bright Gas, the price is Rp. 163,000 or Rp. 13,584 per kg.

Then for LPG the 3 kg subsidy or ‘gas melon’ costs Rp. 21 thousand or Rp. 7 thousand per kg, whose national consumption reaches 92.5%. The subsidized LPG price does not undergo a price adjustment, it still refers to the Highest Retail Price (HET) set by the government.
