Non-medical employees at the St. Georg Hospital in Leipzig get more money

The St. Georg Clinic and the Verdi union have agreed on income improvements for the employees of the non-medical service and the trainees. The management announced. The table fees will rise gradually from July by five percent. Bonus payments could also be agreed for employees in the nursing and functional service. For example, the general care allowance has been increased to 130 euros per month; in the intensive care units, the allowance is paid at 100 euros per month.

“This collective bargaining agreement is the consistent further development of the remuneration structures of our employees and an expression of the hospital’s special responsibility as a municipal employer,” declared the managing directors of the Iris Minde Hospital and Claudia Pfefferle. This also recognizes and honors the high level of commitment and performance of the employees during the corona pandemic.
“With this agreement, the clinic is setting new standards in terms of remuneration within the region’s hospital landscape,” added the clinic’s supervisory board chairman and Leipzig mayor of finance, Torsten Bonew.

Verdi is also satisfied with the result. Verdi negotiator Bernd Becker explained that it had succeeded in regulating significantly improved income and working conditions.
