Despite everything, it is not uncommon for border crossing officers to encounter travelers who are still unaware of the measures in force due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They are then forced to turn around and go home.

It is always allowed to cross borders for essential reasons such as work, study or transporting goods.

In addition to not having to do the mandatory quarantine at the hotel, fully vaccinated travelers will no longer have to quarantine themselves at home for 14 days or be tested for the eighth day after arriving in the country. .

Remember that to be considered fully vaccinated, a person must have received their second dose of vaccine for at least 14 days.

“There are still restrictions on the US border. Even they don’t let people in for tourism. And for us in Canada, the same restrictions remain in place, ”explained Denis Vinette, of the Canada Border Services Agency.

Finally, it should be noted that these reductions do not apply to people who are not fully vaccinated. They must always undergo a quarantine at the hotel, in addition to being tested before their departure, on their arrival and on the eighth day after their return.
