The nominations for LOS40 Music Awards Santander 2023 were revealed on Tuesday night (October 17) at a dinner at Florida Park in Madrid attended by artists such as Aitana, Abraham Mateo, Ana Mena and Lola Índigo, according to a statement.
Aitana, Feid and Manuel Turizo lead the list with six mentions each, followed by Lola Índigo, Myke Towers, Ozuna and Karol G, who received five, and Ana Mena, Quevedo, Bizarrap, Duki, Maria Becerra and Shakira, with four nominations each one.
THE40 Music Awards Santander are awarded in 26 sections divided into three categories: Spain Category, Global Latin Category, and International Category.
In the Spain Category, Aitana, Lola Índigo, Ana Mena and Quevedo compete for the award for best artist or group, along with Álvaro de Luna and David Bisbal. Lola Índigo and Aitana are competing for the award for best song for “Los Ángeles” and “El tonto”, respectively. And Abraham Mateo and Manuel Carrasco, with three mentions each, compete for the honors for best live artist and best collaboration.
In the Global Latin Category, Feid and Turizo compete for the best album award: the first for Happy Birthday Ferxxo, We Pirated Your Album; the second for 2000. Feid’s nominations also include, among others, best urban artist or producer, best tour or concert, and best collaboration for “Classy 101,” with Young Miko. Turizo, meanwhile, appears in the categories of best Latin artist or group (along with Carin León, Karol G, Camilo, Shakira and Maluma), and best Latin song for “El merengue.”
Shakira, whose nominations also include best video clip for “Copavaca” and two for best urban collaboration, for “TQG” with Karol G and “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” with Bizarrap, already has a guaranteed award: she will be recognized with the Golden Music Award as “global music icon”. Karol G, meanwhile, was also nominated for best album for her historic Tomorrow will be nice.
Finally, Loreen, Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift lead the International Category with three nominations that include best artist or group, an award for which Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo are also competing.
The LOS40 Music Awards Santander ceremony will take place on November 3 at the WiZink Center in Madrid and can be followed live on the Spanish channel Divinity, LOS40.com and the YouTube channel of LOS40.
