Nomadland wins the Oscars

GUADALAJARA, Jal., April 25, 2021.- With an unprecedented ceremony for being in the middle of the Covid 19 pandemic, the 93rd Oscar Awards gala did not lose its glamor and those who ended the spotlights on Sunday night were the Frances McDormand, Chloé Zhao and Anthony Hopkins. Three Mexicans took a statuette.

With only the winners present and with several scenarios to avoid coronavirus infections, the ceremony was held that did not lose its essence despite the health emergency.

In the Best Directing category, Zhao became the winner with Nomadland’s film. With this, she is the second woman in history to win a statuette in this category.

As best actress, the Oscar went to Frances McDormand, for her participation also in Nomadland.

This is the third time he has won at the Academy. He had previously won for Fargo and Three Billboards Outside, Ebbing Missouri.

The golden statuette for best actor went to the legendary Anthony Hopkins for his role in The Father. At 83 years of age, he is the oldest interpreter to be recognized in this ceremony. He won his first Oscar in 1991 with The Silence of the Innocents.

They are Carlos Cortés, Michelle Couttolenc and Jaime Baskcht, who triumphed at the 93rd Academy Awards and took home the golden statuette in a unique event marked by the Covid 19 pandemic.

The sound mix was made in the field of the Mexican state of Morelos and the film was an original production by Amazon Studios and is available in the Amazon Prime Video catalog.

The film, nominated in six categories, stars British actor Riz Ahmed and is about a heavy metal drummer who begins to lose his audition.
