Nokia will roll out 5G network of América Móvil in Europe – El Financiero

Nokia was selected by A1 Telekom Austria Group, a subsidiary of América Móvil in Europe, to deploy 5G infrastructure in Bulgaria, Serbia and Slovenia.

In a statement, Nokia explained that the international contract includes the 5G RAN mobile network in the three countries, as well as the independent 5G core (Standalone) in Serbia and Slovenia, and the deployment has already started in Bulgaria and will begin soon in the other countries.

Currently, Nokia is already a 5G provider in A1 Austria, will expand its strategic alliance with the new contract and will provide its new 5G AirScale RAN equipment, as well as other related products from its radio access portfolio, which will deliver incredible speeds, connectivity and capacity to subscribers.

The rollout will also offer new services for consumers and industries, such as Industry 4.0. A1 is committed to continually improving and expanding its network infrastructure to maintain its position as a market leader.

Nokia explained that the Nokia 5G Standalone Core cloud-native software leverages machine learning and Artificial Intelligence by enabling near-total automation, with little intervention, for A1 in Serbia and Slovenia; providing greater scale and reliability.

He noted that at a time of increasing network complexity, the Nokia 5G Standalone Core architecture will provide flexibility to respond to market demands, while controlling costs, simplifying operations and enabling key functionalities such as network partitioning.

Nokia has been a strategic supplier to A1 for many years and has worked collaboratively to introduce 3G and 4G mobile networks, the fiber optic network – which is the largest in Austria – as well as multiple private wireless networks.
