Nokia smartphones are leaving the global face after 15 years. He promoted Symbian, Windows and Android

HMD Global is leaving its product director and vice president of business in North America Juho Sarvikas. His face comes to mind for almost everyone who has seen the introduction of one of Nokia’s new smartphones in recent years, but his past is much more connected with the legendary Finnish brand.

Leaving after 15 years

Juho Sarvikas has been a major part of the Nokia brand for fifteen years. As a product manager, he was behind the Nokia E61 and helped raise awareness of the Symbian platform in North America. Then he led the advent of Nokia Lumia phones in the USA, with which he eventually switched to Microsoft. However, after closing the mobile division, he returned to Nokia through the newly formed company HMD Global, where he worked as a product manager.

Juho Sarvikas will say goodbye to HMD Global at the end of April, so it is not yet certain whether he will launch new models for the beginning of this year, which will be introduced next week on April 8. Unfortunately, even on this day we will not see the long-awaited flagship model, instead HMD will introduce three new Nokia from lower price levels – G10, X10 and X20. The first one will be powered by the Helio P22 chipset and will sell for 140 EUR (about 3,700 crowns). The X10 and X20 are supposed to get the more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset.
