Nokia Launches Industrial 5G Devices for Extreme Work Environments

The Finnish Nokia teamed up with the German company i.safe MOBILE GmbH, and released two phones designed for extreme work environments. These are Nokia HHRA501x and Nokia IS540.1. In the first case it is a new phone, in the second case it is just a “rebranding” of the earlier model IS540.1. Both news are the first ever phones to feature the new Nokia logo. HMD Global, which markets smartphones of the Finnish brand under license, uses its older form.

In both cases, these are industrial 5G smartphones that are intended for extreme work environments. They are intended for use in areas where there is a risk of explosion or gas leakage (the so-called ATEX Zone 1), and they are also designed for use in the construction, metallurgical, mining and engineering industries. New products with IP68 and MIL-STD810 resistance, the Android operating system and applications from Nokia are also intended for the hands of workers in ports, airports or shipping warehouses.
