It is not very common for new smartphones to be launched more than six months late. The company HMD Global, which produces Nokia smartphones, has recently been forgetting about the Czech market. It is therefore not unusual that domestic fans have to wait several months for the official launch, even though the new models have long been available abroad.
This is also the case with the Nokia G42 5G model, which some sellers therefore decided to bring to the country on their own. According to the shopping guide Zboží.cz so it is possible to get the new product at a few retailers that you could count on the fingers of one hand. Prices start at 5040 CZK.
Officially, the phone should not go on sale in the Czech Republic until next year, some big sellers state on their official e-shops that sales will start in February. It can be expected that the price tag will be slightly lower as part of the official distribution, but the manufacturer has not yet officially confirmed the price for the Czech market.

The biggest attraction of the Nokia G42 5G is its easy repairability, which was achieved thanks to close cooperation with iFixit. The construction of the phone was therefore designed from the very first screw so that the owners could carry out the most common repairs themselves at home literally in a few minutes.
In this way, you can easily replace, for example, a damaged display, a bent charging connector or a battery with a low condition. The individual parts are like a jigsaw puzzle, when they get damaged, you replace them with another one. And it probably goes without saying that it will be significantly cheaper at home than at a service center.
Thanks to the partnership with iFixit, owners have access not only to spare parts, but also to all the necessary instructions, with the help of which even less technically skilled individuals can cope with the replacement. Replacement parts can be purchased at eustore.ifixit.com. In addition to spare parts, you can also get the necessary repair tools. The manuals are available in English, German and French. Unfortunately, Czech is not available in the menu.
What can he do?
But this model has more charms. The Nokia G42 5G is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdrago 480+ 5G processor, which offers quite solid performance for the price category, and most importantly, unlike the previously revealed G22 model, it adds support for fast 5G networks.
The processor is supported by 6 GB of operating memory, which can also be virtually expanded by another 2 GB. A generous storage capacity of 128 GB is ready for all applications, photos or videos.
The main camera with 50 MPx resolution is additionally enriched with some functions that were previously only the privilege of the higher Nokia X series. The camera application also includes a new night mode, a tripod mode or the Dual Sight function, which takes care of the possibility of taking photos or filming from the front and rear cameras at the same time.

The back of the Nokia G42 is made of 65% recycled plastic, which leaves no fingerprints. At the same time, the construction offers increased resistance according to the IP52 standard, so it is not completely waterproof, but the phone does not mind falling water.
It also deserves to be singled out for up to three days of battery life on a single charge, thanks to the 5000 mAh battery.
The manufacturer gives the phone an above-standard three-year warranty. Support for major updates is provided for two years and support for regular security updates for three years, which is not always the case with competitors.
The aforementioned Nokia G22, which was actually the first easily repairable mobile phone on the market, went on sale with a price tag of CZK 4,299. According to the shopping guide Zboží.czwhich runs the company Seznam.czbut prices have dropped since the spring, so this smartphone can currently be purchased for CZK 3,050.
