HMD, which operates the Nokia brand for telephony, has lifted the veil on a new phone ” revival Which brings the Nokia 5310 up to date. This model released in December 2007 was the worthy representative of the XpressMusic family, phones specially designed to listen to music.

Back to the future

The manufacturer has not sought to reinvent the wheel. This new 5310 takes up the illustrious design of its ancestor. The screen is not tactile, you must use the numeric keyboard and the D-Pad to navigate through the menus. It’s not Android that powers the device, but Symbian S30 +.

Technically speaking, this new Nokia 5310 takes us back ten years: a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, no camera at the front but a VGA sensor at the back (with flash anyway), a port micro USB (USB 1.1), two slots for mini SIM cards (!), a removable 1,200 mAh battery, 16 MB of storage with a microSD card slot up to 32 GB.

The device is incompatible with Wi-Fi, but it still supports Bluetooth 3.9. No 4G or even 3G, just access to GSM networks … The Nokia 5310 catches up a bit with its 3.5 mm jack port, an FM tuner and two front speakers. And then its autonomy is appreciable given the current standards: up to 30 days on standby.

This Nokia 5310 has another advantage: its price. The device costs only 39 €!
