An investigation was opened for “refusal to comply” and “attempted homicide of a person holding public authority”, after a chase involving a driver and the police on Tuesday evening, indicates, this Wednesday morning, the representative of the Bobigny public prosecutor’s office. The investigations were entrusted to investigators from the police station of Noisy-le-Grand (Seine-Saint-Denis), where the facts occurred.
According to the first elements, Tuesday, around 9:45 p.m., a police patrol noticed a Renault Clio, circulating avenue Émile-Cossoneau, which had just violated the Highway Code. The driver did not respect the traffic light, according to the Bobigny prosecution.
The police try to control the offending vehicle, but the driver refuses to stop and flees. A chase then begins with the police, from this residential area, through the city. The driver behaved dangerously while driving, in particular on a median, sometimes in the opposite direction of traffic, particularly at the level of Avenue du Pavé-Neuf, near the RER station. Reinforcements are called.
A policeman shoots three times
“Another crew, which was nearby” spotted the Clio and “then blocked it”, indicates the Bobigny prosecution. The vehicle is slightly stuck. “He climbs on a median (…) and rushes at the police”, details the magistrate.
One of them then uses his weapon – three times, according to the first elements – and shoots in the direction of the car, which resumes its course. “Only one policeman used his weapon,” continues the representative of the public prosecutor’s office.
The Clio escapes despite the gunshots. The vehicle was finally found a few kilometers further, in Nogent-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne). Empty. Its driver is still wanted. According to initial findings, the car was stolen. It has been towed and will be subject to further investigation.

The municipal police officers were called in to help secure the avenue du Pavé-Neuf, specifies the town hall of Noisy-le-Grand, the time of the findings and in particular the search for casings.
