Linz.

During the night of Monday, a knife attack occurred in front of a residential building in Linz-Bindermichl-Keferfeld. The reason was apparently noise disturbances.

“On September 8, 2024, at around 1:45 a.m., several police patrols were called to the Bindermichl-Keferfeld district of Linz because an argument had escalated and someone had suffered serious injuries. When they arrived, a 26-year-old Albanian was found seriously injured. According to initial interviews with those present, a man had injured the 26-year-old with a knife during an argument. The 26-year-old was arrested without resistance by police in an apartment in an adjacent house. The 30-year-old from Linz confessed to the facts. The 26-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries, although not life-threatening. The Upper Austria State Criminal Police Office has taken over the investigation. The reason for the argument was noise made by those present in front of the residential building. The 30-year-old then went outside to stop the noise. At the exit, the argument escalated and a scuffle ensued, resulting in the 26-year-old suffering knife wounds. The 30-year-old arrested man was taken to the prison after consultation with the Linz public prosecutor’s office,” the police reported.

The Upper Austrian State Criminal Police Office is asking for relevant witness information about the time of the crime at Bindermichl on +43(0)59133 403333.
