Pension expenses increased by half a billion leva in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year. The National Social Security Institute reports the implementation of its budget for the first 6 months.
The total reported expenses are BGN 8 billion 145 million. Of these, nearly 7 billion were paid for pensions. Outside of what was planned in the budget, another 736 million leva were paid for the Covid supplements of 60 leva. 56 million went to the vaccinated pensioners, who received 75 leva each once. BGN 142 million were needed for the Easter supplements of BGN 70.
The second most important group of expenses for the half-year is for short-term compensations and benefits – just over 1 billion BGN.
In total, the state collected BGN 4.7 billion from insurance in six to seven months, BNR reported.
And the deficit of BGN 3 billion 423 million was supplemented with transfers from the state budget.
