Noctua launches NH-L9A-AM5 for Ryzen 7000

Reputable Noctua has long offered competent processor coolers to keep users’ processors cool and happy. Often dressed in the iconic brown color, the models come in both large and small variants, with the NH-L9 series being a well-known example of the latter. The series recently received reinforcement in the form of NH-L9I-17xxwhich is specially adapted for Intel’s socket LGA 1700. Now AMD’s latest gets a similar treatment.

On its website presents Noctua NH-L9A-AM5, and as the name suggests, it’s a refreshed version of the little thing aimed at AMD’s socket AM5. Like previous versions, the cooler is intended for the smallest size builds, measuring only 37mm in height for wide compatibility with different chassis. Noctua says that the smaller size also means that the cooler should stay out of the way of primary memories and graphics cards.

With smaller size comes limited cooling capability, and the NH-L9A-AM5 is no exception. Noctua recommends combining the cooler with the newly released ones The Ryzen 7000 processors with TDP value of 65 watts, but the company claims that there should also be room for up to 130 watts if needed. Anyone who wants to increase the cooling capacity can buy the fan tunnel NA-FD1, which should be able to lower the temperature by a further 5 °C.

It can easily cool the new 7900, 7700 and 7600 at ultra-quiet fan speeds and offers plenty of headroom if customers want to push them beyond 65W – we’ve actually been running up to 130W on the Ryzen 7950X and 7900X! – Roland Mossig, VD på Noctua

Noctua’s NH-L9A-AM5 is released in both classic brown color and all-black Chromax Black variant, and the pricing lands at 49.90 and 59.90 euros, respectively. Sales start already today, even if the products are not yet available in Swedish stores at the time of writing.
