San Jose Sharks striker Evander Kane passed the waiver list as expected without being reached by another NHL hockey club and is heading for a lower competition. The 30-year-old winger will wear the jersey of the San Jose Barracuda “shark” farming team.
In October, the profile management suspended Kane for 21 matches for violating the covid protocol. Kane presented himself as a fully vaccinated player, but later it turned out that he had a fake vaccination card. He was able to return to the action no earlier than November 30 in a match against New Jersey. He hasn’t played a single duel in the current season.
“The management of the club did a great job and we were not very distracted by the team. Such a course was to be expected, we will see what happens next. The locker room has a good atmosphere and I believe it will continue to do so, ” said “nhl.com” coach “sharks” Bob Boughner.
Assistant club manager Joe Will added that the Sharks do not yet have a plan for the attacker to return to the first team, and said there was a possible exchange in the game: “Everything is possible.”
With 49 points (22 goals and 27 assists) in 56 matches, Kane was the team’s most productive player last year. He came to San Jose in the 2017/18 season and after that he signed a seven-year contract with an average income of seven million dollars per season.
Atlanta chose him to the NHL from 4th place in the draft in 2009, and the club moved to Winnipeg two years later. From the 2014/15 season he worked in Buffalo. Kane played 769 matches in the regular season, scoring 264 goals and adding 242 assists. He scored 13 points (6 + 7) in 29 playoff matches.
