The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded on Tuesday to three scientists whose research helped create sophisticated models that can predict climate change and the impact of humanity on our planet’s climate.
The Nobel Prize will be awarded to Sjukuro Manabe (90), a Japanese scientist living in the United States, Klaus Haselman (89), a German scientist, and Giorgio Paris (73), an Italian physicist.
Manabe’s and Hasselman’s research has helped to better understand the Earth’s climate and human effects on it, while Paris’s work on complex systems has led to a better understanding of the relationships between the various factors that affect the climate.
