Nobel Peace Prize to Japan Group

Oslo: This year’s Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to a Japanese group called Nihon Hidankyo. It is a group of survivors of the US atomic bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II. The award is in recognition of the work done against nuclear weapons.

It is believed that the Nobel Committee has decided to award the prize in such a category considering the current world order which is tainted by war including Ukraine, Sudan and Central Asia. Jørgen Vatni Yrafdnis, chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, also said that public sentiment against the use of nuclear weapons is under pressure in the current situation.

“Survivors of the atomic attack have taken into account the pain and painful memories and have come forward with the efforts for peace. “The Nobel committee wants to honor them,” Yrafadnis said.

In 1995 and 2017, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his work against nuclear weapons. Earlier, there were rumors that the committee will decide not to award the Nobel Peace Prize this year, considering the special situation in which world peace is in turmoil.

Each Nobel laureate will receive $10,000,000. Unlike other Nobel Prizes that are announced in Srerakholm, Sweden, the Nobel Peace Prize is announced in Oslo, Norway.

This year’s Nobel Prize season will conclude with the economic Nobel to be announced on Monday. The prizes that Alfred Nobel mentioned in his will are Physiology and Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Literature and Peace. The Nobel Prize in Economics is given in his memory.
