The 13th Bahía Blanca Latin American Poetry Festival is coming from October 2 to 6, with the participation of 16 poets from Argentina, Chile and Ecuador.
The event returns with readings, music, cinema, workshops, poetry at school, dance, party and a great outdoor closing.
In this edition there will be the poet Fabián Casas (Boedo, 1965), Argentine writer, essayist and journalist.
His work is made up of three novels, three books of short stories, eleven collections of poems and books of essays and plays. In 2007, he received the Anna Seghers Prize in Germany.
Chilean Rafael Cuevas and Colombian/Ecuadorian illustrator, cartoonist and plastic artist Powerpaola will also arrive in Bahia.
Like every year, the festival proposes an expanded idea of poetry with crossovers between music, art and verse.
Other notable visits this year will be that of the singer and poet Paula Trama, who will be in charge of closing the festival with an open-air recital in the Plaza del Algarrobo, on Sunday the 6th.
Additionally, the list of national guests completes: VV Fisher, Carlos Ríos, Ana Porrúa, Santiago Pontoni, Gustavo Sánchez and Eloisa Oliva. Joining the locals: Emilia Bianco, Felicitas Eileicegui, Macelo Díaz, Julieta Rosso, Ziva and Juani Guerrero.
In the last 30 years, poetry has also grown from the edges, small, artisanal, medium-sized, self-managed publishing houses are protagonists of this artistic movement and also of our festival.
All activities will be accompanied by the Poetry Publishers Fair that brings independent labels from all over the country.
The classic poetry reading tables will take place: on Thursday the 3rd at the UNS House of Culture, on Friday the 4th at the City Historical Museum, on Saturday the 5th at Factor C and on Sunday the 9th at the Plaza del Algarrobo.
There will also be self-publishing and cameo-making workshops, open talks by Powerpaola at ESAV, and poetry and genres at UNS; a poetic walk along the banks of the Napostá stream and visits by local poets to secondary schools in the city.
