Noa Vahle and Johan Derksen’s Clash Over SBS6’s New Good News Show

Noa Vahle is considered a great television talent in Hilversum and even has a chance to win the Televizier-Ring Talent Award. The world is at the feet of the sports journalist and presenter, but Johan Derksen warns her against a capital mistake. Participating in SBS6’s new, daily good news show would be a bad choice, according to Derksen.

At the insistence of John de Mol, SBS6 will present a TV program focusing on positive news every working day at 6 p.m. from Monday, October 2. Derksen has stated several times in the talk show Today Inside that he has no confidence in that format. In his view, there is no ‘good news’, but only ‘news’. However, Vahle, like regular bar guest Merel Ek, is closely involved in the project.

“Like Merel, I also participated in those pilots, yes. I may join in every now and then if there is good sports news. It has to be positive,” Vahle said on Wednesday evening. Derksen would find it unwise if Vahle participates. “You should never join a program that is doomed to failure.”

Vahle, a niece of De Mol, responded: “I’m not talking to John about that, man. But maybe I’ll join in every now and then.” Derksen advised, “When you’re young, it can hurt your career, if you’re in one of those programs that completely fail.”
